Long Beach Island, NJ Beach Portraits

Long Beach Island isn't one beach — it's eighteen miles of barrier island stretching from the Barnegat Lighthouse in the north down to the Holgate Wildlife Refuge in the south, with eight distinct beach communities in between. That geography matters when it comes to family portraits. Each town along LBI has its own light, its own crowd patterns, and its own personality, and choosing the right beach for your session makes all the difference.

I've been photographing families along the Jersey Shore since 1983. I know which LBI beaches glow at golden hour, which ones offer quiet stretches of sand even in peak August, and how to make a beach session feel like a relaxed evening with your family — not a stiff photo shoot. Whether you're staying at a rental in Beach Haven, visiting family in Surf City, or coming up for a long weekend in Loveladies, I'll match the right beach to your group and the moment.
